Interfacing With Missed Connections

Misconnection, missed connections, and disconnection, are losses - a loss of contact, of information, of commune-ication. Is each connection we make informed by our desire or longing to complete the connection of a previously missed one? And do these failed connections shape who we are to a greater extent than the relationships that define us?

From knitted binary code in baby pink and blue, to crossed stitched DNA test results on medical gauze, fuzzy felt applique phones, and embroidered semaphore code, this group of interactive, sculptural and performative works explore how text, textiles and technology interface with our missed connections.
