This collaborative exhibit features work by two Artworks artists, Bob Campagna and Sylvia Eichmann. Into Silence evolved through a series of responses between the artists. Since June, 2016 Into Silence became a true collaboration between the artists, reflecting an almost daily conversation and continued shifting and refinement of the journey towards exhibition and publishing. Eichmann’s abstract prints were created in response to Campagna’s photographs.
“Starting with someone else’s image to create prints, was a challenge, as the usual source of my work is an inner vision or dream, a researched cosmology, philosophy, or personal experience. So, at first, I struggled to find my own visual language as a response to Bob’s images, and then finally and simply visually abstracting those grayscale images into elementary forms and lines and adding color as a form of breathing life into them.” – Sylvia Eichmann, Printmaker
